Join Sugar Beet Schoolhouse at River Forest Kitchen for a 9 hour summer intensive "culinary camp" We'll run through essential kitchen skills and work our way through three mornings of hands- on cooking in a professional kitchen. Plus, we get to eat together at the end of each class and young chefs will take home recipes so that they can practice their new skills at home.
In our first sold -out series of classes we made SO many dishes! Homemade pasta, deviled eggs, chick pea blondies, kale chips, quinoa chocolate cake, banana bread granola, rice bowls and more!
For ages 8+ and we can accommodate most allergies and dietary preferences. This session will be vegetarian.
$150 per young chef which includes:
- 9 hours of instruction and hands-on cooking time in a professional kitchen
- tastings throughout and lunch (we use high quality/ organic ingredients whenever possible!)
- recipes and tips for cooking with kids and including them in the kitchen
Classes are July 11, 13, 15 and are from 9am-12pm.
Students are welcome to arrive 30 minutes early or stay 30 minutes after to help clean/ prep. Classes are held at River Forest Kitchen which is a community kitchen space for area chefs. Please email any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
